The main grievance of the petitioner as regards wrongful confinement may have become infructuous since the University is functioning.

It is, however, directed that the Bolpur/Shantiniketan Police Station and the Superintendent of Police, Birbhum shall ensure that the incident complained of is not repeated and any demonstration or protest by any student organisation in the University may be held at a distance of 50 meters away from any administrative office in the University, particularly that of the office and residence of the Vice-Chancellor.

No protest shall be held at the residence of any of the persons engaged in the management and administration of the University.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

6.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
