Leave is granted to the learned Advocate-onrecord of the petitioners to pay the deficit court fees by 18th March, 2025. It is made clear that, in default of payment of deficit court fees by 18th March, 2025, the writ petition shall stand dismissed automatically. 3.

In case the Petitioner makes up the deficit court fee on or before 18th March, 2025, the following order shall be effective.

The petitioners have approached this Court, being aggrieved by the non-grant of an electricity connection required for the installation of a shallow pump in their premises for agricultural purposes. It is the case of the petitioners that they had applied for an electricity connection vide applications dated 4.2.2015 and 21.2.2015. However, despite multiple follow ups, the respondent authorities have failed and neglected to take any steps for grant of electricity connection.

Learned Counsel for the respondent- WBSEDCL submits that the application of petitioner no. 1 was not considered as it was not filed in the proper format. However, it is further submitted that if the petitioner submits a fresh application in the prescribed format, the same shall be duly considered in accordance with law within a period of four weeks.

As far as petitioner No.2 is concerned, it is pointed out by the learned Counsel for the respondent that the petitioner has failed to carry out the necessary required construction i.e. in the form of meter room, etc, for the grant of new electricity connection.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner No.2 assures that the petitioners shall promptly comply with all the necessary formalities and shall carry out the construction of the meter room at the earliest to enable the respondent to grant electricity connection for his shallow pump. Upon completion of the necessary formalities, the petitioners shall inform the respondent No.3, Station House Manager, who in turn shall consider their applications and shall provide the electricity connection within a period of four weeks, after submission of the application and further carry out all the necessary required formalities.

With the above direction, the present writ petition is disposed of.
