The petitioners participated in the 2nd SLST, 2025 for recruitment of Assistant Teachers under the reserved category by depositing the application fees meant for the reserved category candidate - SC/ST and PH. They are aggrieved as the Commission changed their status from the reserved category to the general category.

Reliance has been placed on the judgment delivered by this Bench on 27th November, 2025 in
WPA 26937 of 2025 (Somnath Pramanik & Ors. v. The State of West Bengal & Ors.).

Prayer has been made to direct the West Bengal Central School Service Commission to treat the petitioners' candidature in the reserved category. 5.
Submission of the petitioners is opposed by the respondents.

As the issue in the instant writ petition has been answered by the Court in the matter of Somnath Pramanik (supra), accordingly the same direction passed in the matter of Somnath Pramanik (supra) is passed herein.

The Commission is directed to treat the petitioners in the reserved category, subject to verification of their reservation certificates. 8.
The writ petition stands disposed of.

All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of necessary formalities.
