For the petitioner Ms. Debjani Das Gupta ... for the State The petitioner is directed to serve upon Ms. Debjani Das Gupta, ld. advocate, who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Her appearance may be regularised by the concerned authority.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner is in custody since 14th February, 2023. Although, investigation was completed in the month of July, 2023, but, charge was framed on or about December, 2023. Having regard to the period of detention of the petitioner, I direct that on and from the next date, so fixed, the ld. trial court would fix a schedule consisting of three dates and fix such schedule once in every sixty days so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment shall be granted to either of the parties.

In case, any witness is reluctant to appear, in that case, the ld. trial court would be at liberty to inform the concerned Superintendent of Police, who would ensure regarding the production of the witness. The ld. Public Prosecutor conducting the case would produce the materials, exhibits and documents on the date so fixed for the examination of the witness. All efforts be taken by the stakeholders to conclude the trial at the earliest. With the aforesaid observations, CRR 4645 of 2023 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order, duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
