Learned counsels for the petitioner and the private opposite party submit that the dispute has been amicably settled between the parties and the private opposite party does not intend to proceed with the matter any further.

Learned counsel for the private opposite party produces a letter written by the private opposite party to that effect to the Officer in Charge, Beliaghata Police Station, Calcutta.

In view of the above, this Court is inclined to hold that allowing the proceeding to continue shall be a futile exercise. The proceeding being G.R. case no. 1962 of 2023 pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sealdah, South 24 Parganas be quashed.

CRR 5039 of 2024 and the application being CRAN 1 of 2024 are disposed of.
