Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for one year eleven months and nineteen days. Learned advocate submits that he has been implicated in connection with the instant case as alleged 23.5 Kg Ganja was recovered from one vehicle, 68 Kg of Ganja from another vehicle.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner, however, submits that the charge sheet has been submitted, charges have been framed but, prosecution evidence is yet to commence and twelve witnesses have been proposed to be examined by the prosecution in order to prove its case.
Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the witness action has been started,
commercial contraband has been seized and the steps have been taken by the prosecution to conclude the trial. Additionally, it has been submitted by the State that there are antecedents of the present petitioner.
Having considered the stage of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner being CRM (NDPS) 1610 of 2025 is dismissed at this stage.
