The writ petition has been preferred by the father complaining regarding the atrocities at the hands of his son and daughter-in-law and the grandson.

Number of criminal cases inter se the parties have been registered by the police authorities, as has been reflected in the report submitted on behalf of the State. Mr. Ganguly, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner has also filed a supplementary affidavit in respect of the subsequent cases which have been registered along with the injury report enclosed therewith. The main thrust of allegations is that the private respondents are compelling the petitioner for transferring the property which is in his name, petitioner having refused is subjected to physical torture at the hands of

the private respondents. Learned advocate prays for protection of the petitioner.

In view of the nature of the dispute which is inter se the family members, I direct that for a period of 15 days the Officer-in-Charge, Karaya Police Station will engage a lady police personnel who would every alternate day visit and assess as to whether the petitioner and his wife is subjected to any physical torture or harassment at the hands of the private respondents. If any situation so arise which is blown out of proportion, appropriate reports be submitted so that the Officer-in-Charge of the concerned police station will be able to take steps in accordance with law.

In the meantime petitioner would approach the appropriate authority under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. Any order passed by the authority concerned in respect of complying with the provisions under the said act upon the police authorities should be respected, obeyed and implemented by the police.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 27135 of 2023 is disposed of.

Reports so submitted by the State be kept with the record.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
