Pursuant to the earlier order dated 18.03.2025, the respondent-WBSEDCL has conducted an inspection and submitted a report, a copy of which has been handed over.

Learned Counsel for the respondent-WBSEDCL fairly states that the petitioner is in possession of the said property. An electricity connection can be granted to the petitioner, subject to police protection and compliance with all requisite formalities by the petitioner.

The petitioner has purchased the plot of land situated at Bilkuli Natun Para, P.O. Noapara, P.S. Bhadreswar, Dist.

Hooghly from the private respondents. However, despite the payment of sale consideration, the private respondents had failed to execute the sale deed in favour of the petitioner. Consequently, on 05.07.2018 the petitioner took

possession of the said property. Since 05.07.2018 the petitioner has been residing in the said premises. The petitioner further contended that the private respondent no. 6 preferred a Title Suit No. 105/2023 and the same is pending adjudication before the appropriate Court. Meanwhile, the petitioner had applied for an electricity connection and duly deposited the required quotation amount on 12.04.2023.

However, due to objections raised by the private respondents and the petitioner's alleged failure to produce adequate documentation, the respondentWBSEDCL was not in a position to grant the electricity connection.

None appears for the private-respondents despite service.

Learned Counsel for the respondent in terms of the inspection conducted fairly states that they are in a position to grant the electricity connection subject to police protection.

In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the respondent, this Court directs the Inspector-in-Charge, Bhadreswar Police Station to provide adequate police protection to the respondentWBSEDCL officials to facilitate the execution of their duties. The expenses for such police protection shall be borne by the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the respondent states that they shall grant electricity connection to the petitioner after meeting all necessary compliances within a period of three weeks.

With the above direction, the present writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
