The petitioners are the senior citizens, who complained that they are being harassed, humiliated and abused at the hands of the private respondents being their son and daughter-in-law (the respondent nos. 4 and 5).

Both petitioners and private respondents are staying at the

same residence.

In view of the insecurity felt by the present petitioners because of the act and actions of the private respondents which have been complained of and informed to the local police station, I direct Officer-in-charge of Karaya Police Station to depute a lady police personnel, who would, on every alternate day, visit the residence of the petitioners and assess regarding the circumstances which have been complained of in the writ petition, particularly, the harassment, humiliation and abuse.

To that effect, the lady personnel will submit a report to the Officer-in-charge of Karaya Police Station. The Officer-incharge of Karaya Police Station, in case, there are situations which are blown out of proportion, would take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

Such arrangement of the lady police personnel visiting on every alternate day would continue for a period of four weeks.

In the meantime, the petitioners would approach the appropriate authority under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

In case, authority and/or tribunal passes any order, the Officer-incharge of Karaya Police Station will respect, obey and implement such order of the authority/tribunal concerned.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 28637 of 2024 is disposed of.

Report so submitted be kept with the record. Let a copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate for the petitioner.

Since affidavits are not been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
