Advocate for the State, has submitted a report in connection with Narendrapur P.S. Case No. 621 of 2022.

The records of the case reflect that charges are under the provisions of IPC and also POCSO Act. Having regard to the plight so expressed by the petitioner, I direct that the ld. Magistrate will, on the report submitted by the police officer, take a decision for splitting up the trial and give effect to the same on the next date so fixed or within a fortnight from the said date. Thereafter, the ld. Trial court would proceed with the stage of consideration of charges which the ld. Special Court would try to complete by 25th of May, 2024.

If, after consideration of charge, the ld. Trial court is of the opinion that the trial of the case should commence,

then, in that case, the trial court would fix a schedule consisting of three dates and fix such schedule once in every two months so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. With the aforesaid observations, CRR 545 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is also disposed of. Report so submitted be kept with the record.
