This is an application for a direction upon the Trial Court for expeditious disposal of Case No. N-42/2019 arising out of Basirhat Police Station Case No. 140 dated 11th February, 2019 under Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act pending before the learned Additional District Judge-cum-Special Judge(NDPS Act), 6th Court at Barasat. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he was arrested on 11th February, 2019 on the allegation that he was in possession of narcotic substance. Police submitted charge-sheet on 8th March, 2019. The learned Trial Judge framed charge against the accused under Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act on 2nd December, 2020.

However, till date out of seven charge-sheeted witnesses prosecution has been able to examine only two witnesses.

Under such circumstances, the instant revision is disposed of directing the learned Trial Judge to conclude examination of the remaining witnesses within three months from the date of this order. With the above direction, the instant revision is disposed of. The petitioner is at liberty to act on the server copy of the order.
