Status report filed by the State in terms of our order dated 7.1.2025, be kept with the records.

The petitioner says that during the last nine months, only 1 witness has been examined, and that too, in part. 3.

99 kilograms of ganja was recovered from the joint possession of the two accused persons including this petitioner. The petitioner was arrested on September 30, 2023. Charge has been framed and witness action has begun. We cannot say that there is inordinate delay in the progress of the trial. There are 10 charge sheet named witnesses.

In view of the restrictions in Section 37 of the NDPS Act, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage.

The prayer for bail is rejected.

CRM (NDPS) 1887 of 2024 is dismissed.

Keeping in mind the period of detention of the petitioner, we request the learned Trial Court to take all steps for expediting the trial and concluding the same on an early date.

8.

The parties shall communicate this order to the learned Trial Court.

9.
