The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, being aggrieved by the non-grant of an electricity connection by the respondent authorities for submersible pump for carrying out agricultural activities. 3.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of Plot No.76, J.L. No.05, Mouza Pathar Mandala, District-Malda and he had duly applied for the said electricity connection on 18th June, 2024. In compliance with the procedural requirements, he has also paid the quotation amount on 10th February, 2025. However, despite fulfilling the financial obligations, the electricity connection has not yet been provided.

Learned Counsel for the respondent WBSEDCL authority appears and submits that the respondent authority is ready and willing to provide the electricity connection to the petitioner within a period of four weeks, subject to the petitioner fulfilling all requisite formalities.

In view of the statement made by the learned Counsel for the respondent, nothing survives in the present writ petition. Accordingly, this Court directs that upon the petitioner complying with all necessary formalities, the respondent authority shall ensure that the electricity connection is granted within four weeks from the date of such compliance.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
