The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition being aggrieved by the non-grant of electricity connection to his submersible pump by the respondent-WBSEDCL for carrying out his agricultural activities.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of plot No.196, J.L. No.126, Mouza - Uttar Mahinagar under Gazole Police Station, Dist. Malda. He had installed a submersible pump at his plot and applied for electricity connection for the same on 18.06.2024.

Despite regular follow-ups, the respondentWBSEDCL has failed to take steps to grant electricity connection to him.

Learned Advocate for the respondent-WBSEDCL submits that they are ready and willing to decide petitioner's representation for grant of a new electricity connection within a period of two weeks from date.

In view of the submission made by the learned Advocate for the respondent-WBSEDCL, this Court directs the respondentWBSEDCL to decide the representation of the petitioner for grant of a new electricity connection within a period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order. The electricity

connection shall be granted to the petitioner only after due compliance of all necessary formalities.

With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
