The petitioner has assailed the order dated 7th December, 2023 passed by the learned Additional District & Sessions Judge, 1st Court, Serampore, Hooghly in Sessions case no. 16 of 2021 directing issuance of warrant of arrest against him.

It appears that the petitioner was on bail and failed to appear before the learned Judge on 7th December, 2023 for which warrant of arrest was issued against him. The petitioner undertakes to surrender before the learned Judge within a fortnight from date. If the petitioner surrenders before the learned Judge within a fortnight and files an application for bail, the learned Judge shall deal with the same in accordance with law. In the event the petitioner fails to surrender before the learned Judge within the stipulated time frame, the learned Judge shall be at liberty to take necessary steps against the petitioner in accordance with law without further reference to this Court.

Warrant of arrest issued against the petitioner vide order passed on 7th December, 2023 be stayed till 20th March, 2025. CRR 5093 of 2024 is disposed of.
