Since the petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of GR 1026 of 2023 pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Arambagh, Hooghly, the matter may be taken into consideration without service of notice upon the opposite parties. The opposite parties shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case.

This Court is informed that the case is pending since 2023. Witness action is yet to commence. The petitioner is unable to resume his duty as a civic volunteer due to pendency of the case. In view of the above, the learned Magistrate is directed to take the proceeding to its logical conclusion within two years from the next date of hearing fixed before him, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law. CRR 5096 of 2024 is disposed of.
