Banerjee) Mr. Bidyut Kumar Halder Mr. Indranil Halder ... for the petitioner The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the Officer in Charge Mathurapur Police Station in taking steps to put her back in possession of the land of which the petitioner claims to be the rightful owner. Complaint was lodged before the Officer in Charge Mathurapur Police Station on 29th August, 2023 followed by a further complaint on 6th October, 2023. None represents the respondents. Affidavit of service is taken on record.

The Court is of the opinion that the police will not be the competent authority to put back the petitioner in possession of the property from where she has been allegedly dispossessed. It will not be appropriate to direct the police to enquire or adjudicate the title or ownership of the property where the petitioner seeks to be put back in possession.

It will be open for the petitioner to approach the competent civil forum for relief.

The writ petition is disposed of.
