1. Petitioner is in custody in excess of two years six months.

2. Out of 22 prosecution witnesses, two were examined.

3. Eye-witness examined at the trial states that the petitioner was accompanying the principal accused who shot the victim dead.

4. Considering the gravity of the offence, the involvement of the petitioner therein and period of detention and the fact that the trial is in progress, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

6. Learned Trial Judge is requested to dispose of the trial as expeditiously as possible and not to grant any unnecessary adjournments to any of the parties.
