It appears from the affidavit submitted by the alleged contemnor that pursuant to the order under contempt, notice under Section 10(1) of the West Bengal Highways Act, 1964 has been issued upon the encroacher directing her to remove the structures raised on PWD land and vacate the same on or before 31st January, 2024. The order under contempt has been substantially complied with. It is expected that the proceeding under Section 10 of the Act of 1964 shall be taken to its logical conclusion at the earliest. The contempt application being CPAN 1648 of 2023 is disposed of.

There shall be however, no order as to costs. Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
