Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

By the present writ petition the petitioner seeks direction upon the respondent authorities, particularly, respondent no. 3, the District Inspector of School (P.E.), Purba Medinipur to grant family pension in favour of the petitioner.

The petitioner contends that the petitioner is the handicapped son of the deceased employee viz. late Srihari Charan Manna who was an Assistant Teacher of Mustafapur Uppar Primary School, Post Office Mustafapur, District Purba Medinipur. The petitioner's father retired from service on superannuation on 31st March, 1993 and died on 2nd July, 2010. During his lifetime, the father of the petitioner was receiving the monthly pension. The

mother of the petitioner died on 5th September, 2022. On 7th August, 2025, the petitioner made a representation before the authority concerned for grant of family pension in his favour. However, the same is still pending consideration before the authorities. Hence this writ petition.

Mr. Dilip Kumar Sadhu, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the representation of the petitioner 7th August, 2025 be relegated to the appropriate authority for due consideration.

Despite service none appears on behalf of the State. 6.

Mr. Soumik Dey, learned advocate who usually represents the State is requested to appear in this matter on behalf of the State. Let his appointment be regularised by concerned authority.

Petitioner is directed to handover a copy of the writ petition alongwith all annexures to the learned advocate representing the State.

Mr. Dey, learned advocate for the State leaves the matter to the discretion of the Court.

In view of such submissions, respondent no. 3, District Inspector of Schools (P.E.), Purba Medinipur, is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 7th August, 2025 and dispose of the same in accordance with law upon giving notice to the petitioner by passing a reasoned order within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The reasoned order shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of one week from the date of passing of such order.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is directed to communicate this order to respondent no. 3, District Inspector of Schools (P.E.), Purba Medinipur, for necessary compliance.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition being WPA 28450 of 2025 is disposed of.

Since no affidavit is called for, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied. 14.

There shall be no order as to costs.

15.

Interim order, if any, stands vacated.

Connected applications, if any, stand disposed of. 17.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of all necessary legal formalities.
