According to the petitioner the respondent authorities are not accepting the fees along with his application for renewal of permit, which was valid till December 6, 2024. The petitioner has made endeavour to file the renewal application on November 25, 2024.

Mr. Sen appears for the State.

The existing permit holder would be statutorily entitled to pray for and be granted with the renewal of permit unless otherwise he is ineligible in terms of the provisions under the law. Therefore, the respondent authorities would be duty bound to accept the renewal application of the petitioner along with fees and consider the same in accordance with law.

Hence, this writ petition is being disposed of by directing the respondent no. 5 to accept the renewal application of the writ petitioner along with the requisite statutory fees. Let the said respondent take an expeditious decision thereupon by dint of a reasoned order, positively within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the application of the petitioner, along with fees.

The writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, shall be supplied to the parties, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
