The petitioner is dissatisfied with the manner in which the police is conducting investigation of FIR No. 253 of 2023 dated 14th August, 2023.

It has been submitted that out of seven FIRnamed accused persons, only one has been arrested. It appears from the report forwarded by the Officer in Charge of Palashipara Police Station, signed on 12th December, 2023 that a few of the accused persons have obtained order of anticipatory bail. The application for anticipatory bail filed by the accused no. 1, Golam Mostafa Mallick @ Golam Mostafa @ Kalu, stood dismissed by the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court on 2nd January, 2024 in CRM(A) 4324 of 2023.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that all the accused persons are freely forming around in the locality and sending out threats to the petitioner. Learned advocate for the State submits that the accused persons who have not obtained order of bail are absconding. The police is in the look out for them. The police is, accordingly, directed to intensify the search and take necessary steps against the accused persons in accordance with law. The police shall ensure that no harm is caused to the life and property of the petitioner in any manner whatsoever.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
