Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner's mother aged about 63 years was burn to death. Nobody at the relevant time was present in the house. However, the accused persons had been threatening the de facto complainant and other family members over certain issues for quite some time. It is suspected that the said accused are behind the murder. Investigation is not being done properly.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the case diary and submits as follows. From the statements of neighbours, it appears that when the incident of burning was taking place inside the house. Local people gathered downstairs. Some of them had to break open the inner gate to go upstairs. Statements of relevant witnesses have been taken.

Post-mortem report does not show any other injury than the burn injury. The investigation is going on. It appears that the Investigating Officer is taking necessary steps in investigating the offences. Let the investigation be concluded expeditiously and in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the learned advocate appearing for the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
