1. The present writ-petition has been preferred WEDNESDAY Court : CB-07 Item : DL-14 Bench : SINGLE Matter : WPA Status : DO ID : 266057 AR : NANDY seeking a directive to the concerned respondent to release the petitioner's professional fees.

2. Briefly stated, the facts that led to filling of this writ petitioner are that the petitioner, who is an advocate by profession, was appointed as Senior Public Prosecutor in the Court of Additional District Judge, Alipore, South 24-Parganas, and represented the State of West Bengal in various cases from time to time. However, he did not receive his professional fees for the services rendered. This action has prompted the petitioner to prefer this writ petition.

3. Mr. Chatterjee, learned advocate representing the State, produced a written instruction and submits that the amount of Rs. 4,72,250/- and Rs. 57,200/- are due and payable to the petitioner towards the professional fees.

4. Heard the learned Advocate for the respective parties. Perused the materials-on-record.

5. The Officer-in-charge, Judicial Munshikhana, has acknowledged that there is an outstanding bill of Rs.

P a g e | 2 4,72,250/- and Rs. 57,200/- for the services rendered by the petitioner on behalf of the State of West Bengal in the Court of the learned Additional District Judge from October 2008 to July 2011, and also in the Court of the learned Additional District Judge, Fast Track Court, from March 2009 to February 2011.

6. Taking note of these facts, this Court directs Respondent No. 4 to forward all the relevant documents to Respondent No.

2, the Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal, who, upon receipt of such documents from the District Magistrate, shall take necessary steps to ensure that the amount payable to the petitioner is released in favour of the petitioner.

7. The entire exercise shall be completed within eight weeks from the date of receipt of this order.

8. With these observations and order, WPA 28709 of 2022 is disposed of.
