Notice dated 11th December, 2024 showing service of notice upon learned advocate representing State respondents in terms of order dated 9th December, 2024 is placed before this Court and same is taken on record. Petitioner is a retired Headmaster, who superannuated on 31st January, 2020.

After superannuation of petitioner, Pension Payment Order was issued on 9th September, 2020 releasing retiral dues in favour of the petitioner. Petitioner claims interest on gratuity due to delayed payment.

State respondents are represented by learned advocate who appears virtually.

Accordingly, the Director of Pension Provident Fund and Group Insurance and the concerned Treasury Officer are directed to pay interest at the rate of 8% per annum to the petitioner on gratuity from the date following the date of retirement of the petitioner till the date of release of gratuity, within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Since no affidavit is called for, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.

With the above observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
