Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that in spite of earlier direction to conclude the trial within a specific period, the same was not complied with and presently the case is being dragged by the prosecution. As such, petitioner may be released on bail on any stringent conditions. Learned advocate for the State has submitted that the examination-in-chief of the last prosecution witness being PW12 is complete and the cross-examination would commence on 06.01.2026.

Having considered the stage of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

At this stage, CRM (NDPS) 1666 of 2025 is dismissed. Learned trial Court would put in efforts to pronounce its verdict by 30th of April, 2026.

Report and memo of evidence submitted by the State be kept with the record.
