1. Petitioner is in custody for a period slightly in excess of 1 (one) year and 7 (seven) months.

2. Petitioner stands implicated in murder. Active role of the petitioner appears from the materials on record.

3. Trial is in progress. Out of 23 prosecution witnesses, only 8 were examined.

4. Next schedule for the recording of evidence by the prosecution witness stands fixed by the learned trial judge.

5. In such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6. The prayer for bail is, thus, rejected.

7. CRM (DB) 4160 of 2024 is disposed of.
