1. Status report filed by the State today be kept with the records. The State says that it proposes to examine six more witnesses. Within six months, the trial is likely to conclude.
2. We see that approximately 28 kgs. of Ganja was seized from the joint possession of the three accused persons including this petitioner. Commercial quantity of contraband being involved, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioners' prayer for bail, at this stage.
3. We further see that one of the accused persons was absconding, which contributed substantially to the delay in progress of the trial. The application for bail is, thus, dismissed.

4. However, noting that the State says that the trial should be concluded within the next six months, we direct the learned trial Court to expedite the trial to the fullest extent possible and try and conclude the same as soon as possible keeping in mind the long period of detention of the petitioners.
5. All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
6. Criminal Section is directed to supply certified copies of this order to the parties, if applied for, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
