Matter is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and Indian Bank Authorities being the respondents.

In the writ petition order of punishment dated 19th November, 2025 is questioned.

However, learned advocate representing Bank Authorities has submitted that in terms of Regulation 17 of the Indian Bank Officer Employees' (Discipline and Appeal) Regulations, 1976 impugned order dated 19th November, 2025 passed by the Disciplinary Authority is an appellable order.

In view of availability of alternative efficacious speedy remedy, leave is granted to the petitioner to prefer appeal against order dated 19th November, 2025 passed by the Disciplinary Authority by

fortnight from date.

In the event appeal is preferred within the aforesaid time, Appellate Authority shall exclude the period from the date of filing of the writ petition till the date of disposal of the same while deciding application for condonation of delay.

It is expected that Appellate Authority shall decide the appeal within a reasonable time from the date of its institution.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

8.

There shall be no order as to costs.

9.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the learned Advocates for the parties on the usual undertakings.
