2. Affidavit-of-service filed today in Court be kept with the records.

3. The petitioner alleges that his wife who is a senior citizen is suffering from severe mental illness. She cannot be kept in the house. She is taking steps to commit suicide on repeated occasions and also to harm herself.

4. Request was made before the Superintendent of the Calcutta Pavlov Hospital for providing treatment to her.

5. The representation before the hospital is pending consideration.

6. Without entering into the merit of the application made by the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Superintendent of the

Calcutta Pavlov Hospital to take into consideration the petitioner's prayer in accordance with Section 89 of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 at the earliest but positively within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

7. If required, the Superintendent of the Calcutta Pavlov Hospital may take the assistance of the concerned police station at the time of implementation of the order passed hereinabove.

8. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the representation dated 6th August, 2024 along with all medical documents to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

9. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
