The petitioners participated in the 2nd SLST, 2025. They claim marks on account of prior teaching experience. The appointment letters of the petitioners annexed to the writ petition suggest that they were appointed to teach in the upper primary level. 3.

Some of the petitioners have annexed documents to show that though they were appointed in the upper primary level, but they actually took classes in the secondary level.

The Recruitment Rules pursuant to which the petitioners participated in the recruitment process mentions that a candidate shall be provided marks on account of prior teaching experience if the candidate has experience at the secondary level in a Government or Government Aided or Government Sponsored school. 5.

In the present case, the appointment letters of the petitioners do not mention that they were appointed to teach at the secondary level.

If a candidate is appointed in the upper primary level, his/her experience at the upper primary level ought to be taken into consideration by the authority. The mere fact that the said candidate took classes at the secondary or higher secondary level will not come to the aid of the candidate for obtaining marks on account of prior teaching experience.

In view of the above, the Court is not inclined to exercise jurisdiction in the matter.

The writ petition fails and is, accordingly, dismissed.
