The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, being aggrieved by the non-grant of an electricity connection necessary for carrying out his agricultural activities. 3.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he has installed a submersible pump on his land and duly applied for electricity connection.

Pursuant to his application, the respondent-WBSEDCL had raised a quotation and the same has been paid. However, despite the payment of the said quotation amount, the electricity connection has not yet been provided for his submersible pump.

Learned Advocate for the respondent-WBSEDCL contends that the petitioner's application would not be processed as he has not constructed a meter room which is a mandatory requirement.

Learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that his client will construct a meter room and shall comply with all necessary formalities.

In view of the submissions made, the learned Advocate for the respondent- WBSEDCL states that subject to the petitioner completing all requisite formalities including construction of a meter room the respondent authority shall provide the electricity connection within four weeks from date. 7.

In light of the above, this Court directs the petitioner to fulfill all necessary formalities without undue delay and upon such compliance the respondent authority shall ensure that the electricity connection is granted within the stipulated timeline of four weeks.

With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
