Learned counsel appearing for the applicant submits that the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and not the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited is the necessary party in the writ petition, since the reliefs substantial claimed are primarily to be directed towards the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.

Accordingly, C.A.N. 2 of 2023 is allowed, thereby impleading the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited as a respondent to the writ petition and expunging and deleting the name of respondent no. 5, that is, the Regional Manager, West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited from the cause title of the writ petition.

Learned advocate-on-record for the petitioner shall carry out necessary consequential amendments
in the cause title of the writ petition during the course of the day.

There will be no order as to costs.
