Petitioner is in custody for more than six months. He submits there is delay in the matter. He prays for bail. Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. Statement of the minor victim aged about 10 years implicates the petitioner in the offence of penetrative sexual assault. In view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
