The petitioner has applied for conversion from CPF to GPF on account of service of her late husband, Debabrata Das, who was the Store Clerk of Ramakrishna Mission Industrial Training Centre, Narendrapur, District - South 24 Parganas and died on 30.06.2017.

This Court has held in the case of Jyotsna Mahata Vs. the State of West Bengal and others in WPA 25476 of 2023 dated 20.12.2023, relying upon the case of State of West Bengal and others Vs. Sefali Jana and others dated 24th August, 2023 that the petitioner shall be entitled to seek such conversion.

In a decision dated 2nd August, 2022 passed in W.P.A. No. 30043 of 2017, this Court held that the employees of Technical Schools under the State and their widowed dependents shall also be entitled to exercise this option to switch over from CPF to GPF.

In that view of the matter, the respondent no.2 shall process the application of the petitioner as expeditiously

as possible. Upon the petitioner complying with all formalities including the deposit CPF amount with interest, let P.P.O. be issued in favour of the petitioner within a period of one month thereof and issue pension from the date of retirement of the deceased husband. 5.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
