Petitioner complains that in spite of the writ petition pending before this court in the meantime the water connection was disrupted and the private respondent affixed a padlock at the shop of the petitioner.

However, a report has been submitted by the Inspector-in-Charge, Maheshtala Police Station which reflects that an undertaking has been given by the son being the respondent no. 7 wherein he has undertaken to maintain a good behavior with the parents.

In view of the nature of the dispute, I direct that the Inspector-in-Charge, Maheshtala Police Station would maintain a strict vigil and would promptly take action if the aged petitioner and his wife is faced with harassment at the hands of the respondent no. 7.

A lady police officer be engaged every alternate day to visit and to submit a report if any untoward incident takes place to the Inspector-inCharge of Maheshtala Police Station.

Such arrangement would continue for a period of one month, in the meantime petitioner would approach the appropriate authorities under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. If any direction is passed by the authority under the aforesaid statute, the police authorities would implement the said order.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 29329 of 2024 is disposed of.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.
