1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. The petitioner was issued a show cause notice dated 24th August, 2022 by the Senior Superintendent, Regional Passport Office, Kolkata directing the petitioner to show cause within twenty one days as to why his Indian passport should not be revoked under Section 10 (3) (a) (b) of the Passport Act, 1967 failing which his passport would be revoked.

3. The reply to the show cause notice was filed by the petitioner in May, 2024. The respondent authorities have not taken any further steps thereafter.

4. As it appears that the petitioner submitted his response before the Senior Superintendent in May, 2024, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Senior Superintendent, Regional Passport Officer, Kolkata to consider the same, in accordance with law and dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order at the earliest, but positively within a period of ninety days from the date of communication of this order.

5. The writ petition stands disposed of.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all the requisite formalities.
