By way of filing this public interest litigation the petitioner seeks direction for regularization of AAYA MAASI, who are stated to be working in the government hospitals, recognition, minimum wages and various other benefits. There is nothing to indicate that AAYA MAASIs are engaged either on contractual basis or as Badli workers by the hospital administration or any department of the Government of West Bengal.

The petitioner places reliance on Annexure P-8 which is stated to be the identity card. The petitioner cannot rely upon the same since the said Identity Card was issued by the Secretary, Joint Action Committee, R.G. Kar MCH, Kolkata. Therefore, the question of issuing any positive direction on the State to regularize their service or bring them under a

common umbrella under the Health Department, Government West Bengal would not arise. However, it is always open to the aggrieved persons, either individually or collectively, approach the government for necessary order.
