1. Status report filed by the State be kept with the records. From the report, we find that the concerned Public Prosecutor says that the trial should be concluded within the next four months.

2. 89 kgs. of Ganja was seized from the possession of the accused persons. In view of such huge quantity of contraband being involved and keeping in mind the restrictions in Section 37 of the NDPS Act, we are not inclined to enlarge the petitioners on bail, at this stage, particularly in view of the stand of the State that the trial should be concluded within the next four months.

However, considering that the petitioners are in custody for about 1 year 2 months, we direct the learned trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the same on an early date without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties and if necessary, by fixing frequent schedules for examination of witnesses.

5. All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

6. Criminal Section is directed to supply certified copies of this order to the parties, if applied for, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
