Masud ... for the State-respondent(s) In view of the investigation not having progressed even after 14 months, I direct that the Sub-Divisional Police Officer/Additional Superintendent of Police in charge of Kotwali Police Station, Paschim Medinipur would take a decision as to whether to retain the investigating officer and/or change the investigating officer, thereafter, proceed with the investigation to take the same to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time.

In the meantime, if the complainant and/or her family members are resisted from entering her/their residence and they submit a representation to the concerned superior officer, the same superior officer being the SDPO/ASP would consider such representation considering the ground reality existing.

However, the superior officer would take effective steps in connection with Kotwali P.S. Case No. 599 of 2023 dated 06.09.2023.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 29322 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.
