Instructions of the Commissioner of School Education, West Bengal filed in Court today be kept with the record.

The petitioner has applied for conversion from CPF to GPF on account of service of her late husband, Karali Charan Pal.

This Court has held in the case of Jyotsna Mahata Vs. the State of West Bengal and others in WPA 25476 of 2023 dated 20.12.2023, relying upon the case of State of West Bengal and others Vs. Sefali Jana and others dated 24th August, 2023 that the petitioner shall be entitled to seek such conversion.

In that view of the matter, the respondents shall process the application of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible. Upon the petitioner complying with all formalities
including the deposit with interest and additional interest, let P.P.O. be issued in favour of the petitioner within a period of one month thereof. Let the amount to be deposited by the petitioner be communicated within two weeks and let deposit be made by the petitioner within two weeks thereafter.

Let arrear of pension from the date of retirement of the employee and arrear family pension from the date of death be released to the petitioner within two months from date.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
