Mr. Kamalesh Bhattacharya Mr. Aninda Bhattacharya ...for the petitioners Mr. Supriyo Chattopadhyay Mr. Sabyasachi Mondal ...for the State In terms of the order dated 11th December, 2024 a report has been filed by Additional District Inspector of Schools (SE) Paschim Medinipur in the form of affidavit affirmed on 6th January, 2025 and same is taken on record.
In paragraph 7 of the said affidavit names of eligible teachers are disclosed who can apply and participate in the selection process for filling up the post of Assistant Headmaster in Chandra High School (HS) District-Paschim Medinipur (hereinafter referred to as 'said school').
Previously a date was fixed on 13th December, 2024 for holding interview for filling up the post of Assistant Headmaster in the said school but eligible teachers of the said school made complaint before the concerned District Inspector of Schools (SE) Paschim Medinipur dated 2nd December, 2024 consequently the concerned
District Inspector of Schools (SE) issued a memo dated 6th December, forwarding the complaint to the teacher-in-charge of the said school.
It is submitted by Mr.
Kamalesh Bhattacharya, learned counsel representing the petitioners that due to memo dated 6th December, 2024 and the complaint lodged by the eligible teachers interview could not be held on 13th December, 2024.
Today, it is submitted on behalf of the petitioners for fixation of a date for holding interview for filling up the post of Assistant Headmaster of the said school when all the eligible teachers shall be permitted to participate in the interview.
In view of such submission made on behalf of the petitioners who are the office bearers of the Managing Committee of the said school District Inspector of Schools (SE) Paschim Medinipur being respondent no. 3 is directed to fix a date of interview by 7 (seven) days from the date of communication of this order. After the date to be fixed by the concerned District Inspector of Schools said school authority shall publish a notice granting adequate opportunity to all the eligible teachers to participate in the interview on
the date to be fixed by the concerned District Inspector of Schools. Adequate time shall be provided to the eligible teachers to apply by submitting their candidature. In terms of the date to be fixed by the concerned District Inspector of Schools interview shall be conducted by the school authority in accordance with law and a panel shall be prepared and to be submitted before the concerned District Inspector of Schools (SE) for taking decision.
District Inspector of Schools is directed to supervise the entire selection process in order to bring the same to logical conclusion.
With the aforesaid directions writ petition stands disposed of.
Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
