The petitioner prays for a direction for releasing payment for the work performed by the petitioner in terms of the work order issued by the Government of West Bengal, Department of Information and Cultural Affairs.

A representation by the petitioner is pending consideration at the end of the Secretary, Information and Cultural Affairs Department since 2022. The details of the bills, the dates and the amount due are mentioned therein.

Without going into the merit of the claim of the petitioner, as it appears that the prayer seeking payment is pending consideration before the authority, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Secretary, Department of Information and Cultural Affairs to consider and dispose of the prayer of the petitioner in accordance with law, at the earliest but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The amount found due and payable shall be disbursed in favour of the petitioner without any further delay.

It will be open for the respondent authority to give an opportunity to the petitioner to place documents in support of its claim, if required. 6.
Learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the representation seeking payment along with all supporting documents to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court. 7.
The writ petition stands disposed of.
