1. The petitioner performed some work for the Executive Engeneer, PWD, Murshidabad during the last Assembly Election. The petitioner prayed for release of his final bill amounting to Rs.26,65,518/-.

2. Learned advocate for the state respondents submits that the Department of Home and Hill Affairs, Government of West Bengal has been requested to release the funds. Due to paucity of funds, money has not yet been paid to the petitioner. The learned advocate for the state does not raise any objection with regard to the entitlement of the petitioner. The report of the Executive Engineer is taken on record.

3. Under such circumstances, the Department of Home and Hill Affairs, Government of West Bengal, is directed to release funds in favour of the Executive Engineer, PWD, Murshidabad within December 31, 2024 and the payment shall

be made to the petitioner by the Executive Engineer as found to be admissible, within two weeks thereafter.

4. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.

5. All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of the order.
