Affidavit-of-service so filed be kept with the record. Petitioner is social activist and complains that he is under threat because of the activity carried out by him for larger interest of the society. There are instances which have been complained of from where he apprehends that he may be physically harmed. As such, he has prayed for deployment of personal security.

State has submitted a report. According to the report, it reflects that certain incidents were complained of. Police have enquired the same also and they have also kept a strong vigil with regard to the accusation so made.

In view of the petitioner apprehending regarding his life being at threat he would furnish a representation before the

Superintendent of Police, Diamond Harbour Police District, who would consider the same, analyse the threat perception of the petitioner, thereafter, decide in accordance with law whether the petitioner is to be provided with a security or not. The outcome of the representation may be communicated within a period of 15 days from the date of the representation being furnished to the Superintendent of Police, Diamond Harbour Police District.

With the aforesaid observations, writ petition being WPA 29560 of 2024 is disposed of.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
