The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition, being aggrieved by the failure on the part of the respondent authorities - WBSEDCL to grant an electricity connection, which is essential for carrying out of his agricultural activities. 3.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of plot No.2031, J.L. No.126, Mouza: Uttar Mahinagar, P.S. Gazole, Dist. Malda. He had installed a submersible pump for carrying out his agricultural activities and applied for electricity connection. He had deposited the quotation amount on 31.03.2023.

Learned Advocate for the respondent-WBSEDCL submits that at the time of the petitioner's application for an electricity connection, the required formalities, particularly, the construction of the meter room, were not complied with. However, a subsequent inspection conducted by the respondent authority in December, 2024 wherein the respondent-WBSEDCL found that the petitioner had complied with the necessary formalities including construction of the meter room. It is further contended that in order to energize the electricity connection and install the

meter to the petitioner, the erection of three additional poles are required. Respondent-WBSEDCL states that they will be able to complete the erection of said electricity poles within a period of two months from today.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that his client has no objection to the electricity connection being provided after the erection of the new poles within the said stipulated time of two months from today.

Since the respondent-WBSEDCL authorities have undertaken to provide the electricity connection to the petitioner in accordance with the Regulation 57(4) of the West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission, nothing survives in the present writ petition.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. 8.

There shall be no order as to costs.
