Petitioner is aggrieved by the non-grant of electricity connection by the respondent-WBSEDCL for carrying out his agricultural activities.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of plot No.1755, J.L. No.176, Mouza: Sakrol, P.S. Gazole, Dist. Malda. He had installed a submersible pump for carrying out his agricultural activities and applied for electricity connection on 23.10.2024. Respondent-WBSEDCL authorities till date has not carried out any inspection work nor has provided any quotation amount for the same.

Learned Advocate for the respondent-WBSEDCL undertakes to carry out the inspection work within a period of two weeks from today and provide the quotation amount within one week thereafter. Respondent-WBSEDCL authorities shall decide the application of the petitioner within four weeks from the date of this order.

It is made clear that if the petitioner complies with all the necessary formalities, respondent-WBSEDCL authorities shall

provide electricity connection to him for his submersible pump as expeditiously as possible.

With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Let urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking. (GaurangKanth, J.)
