The Petitioner has preferred the present writ petition, being aggrieved by the failure on the part of the respondent authorities-WBSEDCL to grant an electricity connection, which is essential for carrying out of his agricultural activities. 3.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of plot No.129, J.L. No.148, Mouza: Ichahar, P.S. Gazole, Dist. Malda. He had installed a submersible pump for carrying out his agricultural activities and applied for electricity connection on 09.11.2024. Respondent-WBSEDCL authorities till date has not carried out any inspection work nor has provided any quotation amount for the same.

Learned Advocate for the respondent-WBSEDCL submits that the authorities undertake to conduct the inspection work within a period of two weeks from today and to issue the quotation amount within one week thereafter. Furthermore, the Respondent-WBSEDCL authorities shall decide the application of the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of this order.

In view of the undertaking given by the learned Counsel for the respondent - WBSEDCL, this Court directs that if the petitioner complies with all necessary formalities, the respondent authority shall proceed to grant the electricity connection without any undue delay.

With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
