The petitioner was initially appointed as a State Aided College Teacher Category-II on 9th July, 2020 with effect from 1st January, 2020.

Thereafter the petitioner was redesignated as a State Aided College Teacher Category-I with effect from 1st January, 2020 by a letter dated 29th June, 2022 issued by the Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal.

The petitioner claims that she is entitled to arrears for the interregnum period from 1st January,

2020 to 31st July, 2022 as State Aided College Teacher Category-I.

The College has made several representations before the Director of Public Instructions to consider the claim of the petitioner.

I do not see any justification to keep this writ petition pending. Accordingly, I dispose of this writ petition with a direction upon the Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal, to consider the case of the petitioner and dispose of the same by a reasoned order within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order. The Director of Public Instructions shall be at liberty to hear the petitioner as well as the College before taking the decision. Accordingly, WPA 28408 of 2023 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
