The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition being aggrieved by the non-grant of an electricity connection by the respondent authority - WBSEDCL for carrying out his agricultural activities.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of plot No.760, J.L. No.198, Mouza: Habinagar, P.S. Gazole, Dist. Malda. He had installed a submersible pump for carrying out his agricultural activities and applied for electricity connection on 23.10.2024. However, till date, Respondent Authorities - WBSEDCL has neither conducted the requisite inspection nor issued a quotation for the same.

Learned Advocate for the respondent-WBSEDCL submits that quotation for the electricity connection has already been raised and the petitioner has duly paid the said amount. He further assures this Court that subject to the petitioner fulfilling all necessary formalities, the electricity connection shall be granted to the petitioner expeditiously.

In view of the abovementioned assurance made by the learned Advocate for the respondent-WBSEDCL, learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that his client does not wish to press the present writ petition.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as not pressed. 7.

There shall be no order as to costs.
